TIMESINDONESIA, MAKKAH – In the heart of the pilgrimage preparations at the Syib Amir Terminal, the Salawat buses stand out as a symbol of connectivity and inclusivity for all pilgrims, especially the elderly and those with disabilities. These busses will be the main transportation to take millions of Indonesian pilgrims for this Hajj 2024. 

These buses are more than just vehicles, they are a testament to the commitment of the company to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for every pilgrim. With features specifically designed for the convenience of the elderly and people with disabilities, the Salawat buses are transforming the pilgrimage experience.

Gus Men, overseeing the operations, highlights the significance of these buses. "The Salawat buses are a vital part of our service, with approximately 20 buses dedicated to serving the elderly and disabled pilgrims. These buses are equipped with features like wheelchair ramps and lowered decks, making boarding and disembarking hassle-free."

What sets these buses apart is not just their functionality but also their history. While some of them date back to 2019, the majority were produced in 2022 and 2023, reflecting a continuous effort to improve and innovate.

There are two variants of Salawat buses: city buses and buses designed specifically for disabled and elderly passengers. City buses can accommodate up to 70 passengers, providing ample space for both seated and standing passengers. In contrast, buses for disabled and elderly passengers offer 18 dedicated seats and additional space for wheelchairs in the middle.

Each Salawat bus is equipped with essential amenities such as air conditioning, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, GPS, and emergency door buttons, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout their journey.

Operating round the clock, these buses serve as a lifeline for pilgrims, shuttling them from their hotels to Masjidil Haram. With 22 designated routes covering various regions, including Syisyah, Raudhah, Misfalah, Jarwal, and Rei Bakhsy, pilgrims have easy access to transportation.

Moreover, the commitment to inclusivity doesn't stop with the buses. "We've also established 76 bus stops manned by transportation officers round the clock," Gus Men adds. "These stops ensure that pilgrims have assistance and information available whenever they need it."

In essence, the Salawat buses represent more than just transportation. They symbolize a commitment to inclusivity, comfort, and convenience, ensuring that every pilgrim of Hajj 2024 can embark on their journey with ease and peace of mind.
